Nancy O'Dell's professional career started in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as a news reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV. Then, she joined WCBD as anchor for the morning show and as a crime reporter. O'Dell's reports in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance in DUI cases, prompted the State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. This led to states authorities enforcing more rigorous guidelines in these cases. Ms. O'Dell won her Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell later worked at the Miami-based NBC station WTVJ-TV as an investigative journalist prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. Her current position as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC and NBC News. She has covered such events including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as in addition to hosting a series of shows that were pre-showarrivals in preparation for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. She also hosts the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
